Comment:  There was a strong tradition in Alnwick for members of the Hindmarsh family to work as tanners and it is therefore highly probable that William Hindmarsh (described as a "tanner") came from Alnwick.   Much of the information for this Branch has come from the researcher reinforced with data from the 1881 Census.    The main Alnwick Branch of the family is No.9 and this may be viewed below.
