   It is recorded that Ralph Hindmarch was a farmer born at Easington in Dec 1837.    It therefore seems likely that he is directly related to Branch No 4  which has close links with Easington and Belford - villages that are less than two miles apart.   It would seem that he is the "grandson" of Ralph Hindmarsh born 1775 and Sarah Scott who lived at Easington Grange.   One of her sons, William Septimus Hindmarsh, was born at Belford and was eventually the village Postmaster.    Clearly her young children would have accompanied her there and probably stayed at the family home at Easington.   It is therefore very likely that Ralph is the son of John Hindmarsh who was born to Ralph and Sarah on the 5 Aug 1800.
